a photo of one of the wooden cover boards for a new handmade book i am working on. it will be my first coptic stitch project and i am happy with the work so far. covers are thin pieces of maple that are finished with a handmade beeswax paste. grommeted hole in the front is for a tie to keep the book closed. this book will be somewhat steampunkish i suppose in look. alternating right now with the burnt/aged label (mostly because i am a little wary about aging the rest of the book to match, too easy to go too far). signatures come back from the printer tomorrow and i can start binding the copies.
