easter eggs

a tradition amongst my family (see my sister's linwood avenue post over on the right)

this year though.... achieved something new

hydrangea flowers (we also tried grass and some leafy stems) were applied onto the hot boiled eggs with water, then wrapped in nylon and set to soak in the easter egg dye. on several of the eggs this step was repeated shifting the flowers and re-dyeing in a new color. quite pleased with the results. you can do this also with onion skins which give the eggs a yellow to terra cotta sort of color dyed appearance.

these are stunning. my last favorite was onion skin coloring. this beats it by miles. they are too pretty to eat :-)
