work in progress - new landscapes of the underworld

originally i had planned this book to be an atlas of abstracted maps of hades but, in working on the images last night, i changed my mind as the artwork progressed. i have a vague notion of an impressionistically inclined tourist orpheus traveling across the underworld on 'the grand tour' while searching for eurydice. the images for this book are 8" x 22" and done with oil pastel. the book will be stab bound with leather covers once i decide if i want to dye the leather darker or leave it as is.
