table no. 6

much better photos tonight of the recently completed table 6, nicknamed the 'swift table'.

reclaimed pine legs and a tabletop of padauk bent at a 90deg angle so that the grain rushes over the edge, with a hand rubbed beeswax finish, it is approx 24" x 24" x 30"h.

paduak is an african wood that can be a brownish rust to fiery red in color and once worked with (throws off volumes of very fine itchy dust when sanding it) finishes beautifully. this wood has not been dyed or stained or colored in anyway.

the construction of this table is a departure for me and a skill building exercise in working with angled legs and a different type of joinery than i usually use. the swift table will, i think, be for sale over here soon.

i think i wil be exploring this form more in some upcoming tables.
