small wooden cordial cups

so tomorrow, thanks to friends and their enormous blackberry bramble, i will be making, along with jam, some blackberry cordial.

i found an interesting recipe i'll post once the cordial is done (which takes around 6 weeks to fully steep) and that got me thinking about what to serve it in. i fiddled a bit tonight and came up with some small wooden cups out of cherry which i am rather happy about. working on rubbing in several layers of beeswax and mineral oil on my prototype to make sure water and alcohol does not soak through the walls of the cup. and i think i like the cubic form very much. something sort of along the lines of a saki cup.

update: better photo of the cups in process. the cordial has been made now it needs to ages for a few weeks before i bottle it
