woundings of jeanne - shallow book of hours

i've done a post or two as this book has progressed. here is the finished book in its box. this is a book of hours documenting the wounds of jeanne d'arc. though it does mean other things as well and was influenced by a simon schama episode on mark rothko. technically the book was, for me, an attempt to layer oil pastel heavily on top of itself creating a dense spot of color. the book is 7.5" x 7.5" in 12 loose folio drawings with a slightly larger box made out of cherry. each image is about 1" x 1".
