sawdust factory

a concentrated bout of work the last few days has produced a big pile of sawdust and some items for the current set of artworks i am creating on the subject of "Measurements"

wooden stones for a piece that will be entitled "The Measure of Permanence". these stones continue my explorations into faceted blocks of wood which began a few years ago when i made wooden beads. the scape is increasing and i am now working to make them look more like natural objects. they are very tactile to hold. i think this will be a nice artwork when completed. though i have half a mind to make hundreds of them.

rough cut cubits from different civilizations. surprising how much the dimensions vary on these

oh and for fun i made some birch branch whistles too

May you and all the beautiful things you create, reveal and hone, have a wonderful new year.
Should you share items of the same stunning quality next year as you have this year I know my year will be better for it.
