the bag of cherries i bought last week was starting to decline. i have been too busy with peaches to do anything with them. so last night i was tempted by some crostada recipes over on tastespotting. one plum, cherries and 7 peaches later i had this.
odds and ends tart
6-8 cups of fruit tossed in 1/2 cup sugar and some lemon juice and allowed to macerate for the time it took the puff pasty to thaw
1-2 sheet puff pastry depending on whether you are making something free form on a cookie sheet or in a pie plate and would like a top crust
mound fruit in center of puff pastry and gather pastry corners around it in folds
brush top crust with some sugar and milk
and bake for 20 minutes at 400F
