this is a jacques pepin recipe i saw the other day and seemed quick enough to give it a try. turned out pretty well.
apricot tart
1 flour tortilla - whatever size tart you wish to make
1 to 2 cans of apricots
a little butter and sugar
butter and sugar both sides of the tortilla and place on silpat or parchment paper on a cookie sheet. arrange apricot halves in a decorative pattern on top and put a few bits of butter over them. bake at 400 deg F for 20 minutes.
while the tart is cooking, simmer the syrup from the can on medium heat to make a glaze by reducing it.
when the tart is done, carefully pour or with a silicon brush coat the tart with the glaze.

Loving the use of the fruit's syrup reduction as a glaze.
Thanks for posting. I saw this episode but missed the very first part. One thing I remember, though, is that his apricot halves were turned on their other side so they are like little cups to hold the butter and sugar. Is there a particular reason you have yours turned down?
hmm not that i can remember. i think mostly because they would not fall off that way
Good reason!
