i've been experimenting with some modern sculptural/architectural forms for candleholders out of wood this week. they are multi directional, having holes in different faces allows the candleholder object to be placed upright or on its side as needed. some of the holes have a smaller hole drilled in the center to allow for very thin tapers to be used. wood used includes spalted and curly maple, cherry, and sycamore. each one i do, i learn from, and it informs the shape of the next.
