concertina bound gallery format book

i have a second life friend named griete rasmuson who takes amazingly artistic self portraits. i've wanted to do something nice for her for some time so i thought i would make her a large format (11"x15"), concertina bound, book. i am very pleased with the covers, finally beginning to master gluing cloth to book board and making the corners sharp.

the concertina binding is one where you fold back and forth a long strip of paper then glue the pages to one of the valley sides

there are some things i'd change for next time, now that i know better how the mechanics of this binding works, but this was, all in all, a good project for a good friend.

if one was to untie the ribbons on the spine edge, this book would expand out to be about 3 feet wide
