the cherries on my cherry bush are ripe so, before the birds could have their fill, i gathered them up and boiled them down to use as an extra flavor in the strawberry jam i will make tomorrow. working on my 3rd gallon ziplock bag of strawberries so i think its time.
as i mentioned previously i will be posting a contest soon to win a jar of strawberry preserves so do stay tuned.
and for those promised jam by mail, better get your jam spoons ready and sit on your front porch to wait.
by the way these are sour pie cherries and very small with large stones in them so the best thing to do is boil them and run the juice and skins through a sieve.
