slowly i am piecing together an artist book edition of the story - the ruined queen - by damien broderick, an homage to cordwainer smith. i urge you to read this wonderfully dense and complex short story. it is at one moment beautiful, and at the next, quite melancholy.
the pages will be concertina folded and will be bound between these two mahogany panels. i really love the grain as shown above, which makes it appear to be 3/4" case bound cover. there are still some element details to be worked out: the binding technique for the pages and possibly some way to use moss or other natural materials embedded in the front cover. more as soon as i discover what the book wills.
