an aesthetically and taste-ically pleasing bowl of hot chocolate. bowl from my collection of small pottery. recipe partly inspired by brett bara but mostly from my own head.
quick sipping chocolate
1 cup milk
2-3 oz of green and black's 70% dark chocolate cracked into pieces (my most favorite current chocolate, smooth and bitey and deep)
1/4tsp ceylon cinnamon
a few grindings of fresh nutmeg
peel of 1/4 of an orange
simmer in a heavy saucepan on low, stirring until chocolate melts. whisk to incorporate and turn heat up slightly to medium just until it all starts to boil. remove orange peel and pour into your most french looking sipping bowl. serve for one (hopefully after some successful art-ing or craft-ing)
and for hot chocolate a bit richer and more 'ancienne francaise' go over here.
